De zwarte zusters – Reactions on DIAH

As a follow-up to the festival DIAH (Do it at Home), Nein is organizing a second part, entitled “Reactions on DIAH”. The three formats that were introduced: “Stories Told at Home”, “Mixtapes To Listen at Home” and “Instructions to Perform at Home”, will be translated by sound collective “De zwarte zusters”.
Reactions on DIAH is more than only a reflection, it is a distortion, a playful translation from one medium to another, from one artist to another. With room for (mis) interpretation, noise and shifts in meaning.
“Action -> Reaction”
The digital contributions take on a physical body and are pushed from a pixelated screen, into three dimensional space. These reactions take place in the swamp of 019. Physical performers translate the digital contributions in their own way. This creates an unique program in which the connections between a live and online experience are juxtaposed.
Instead of a digital applause there is room for a real one.

Als vervolg op het festival DIAH (Do it at Home) organiseert Nein een tweede deel, getiteld ‘Reactions on DIAH’. De drie formats die werden geïntroduceerd: ‘Stories Told at Home’, ‘Mixtapes To Listen at Home’ en ‘Instructions to Perform at Home’, worden tijdens dit evenement vertaald door het geluidscollectief De zwarte zusters. Reactions on DIAH is meer dan een reflectie, het is een vervorming, een speelse vertaling van het ene medium naar het andere, van de ene artiest naar de andere. Met ruimte voor (mis)interpretatie, ruis en verschuivingen in betekenis.

De digitale bijdragen krijgen een fysiek lichaam en worden van een gepixeld scherm de ruimte in geduwd. Deze reacties gebeuren live, in 019. Fysieke performers staan in een moeras, en maken zo op hun eigen manier een vertaling van de digitale bijdragen. Zo ontstaat een eigenzinnig programma waarbij de verbindingen tussen een live en online festivalbeleving naast elkaar worden gelegd.
En ontstaat er terug ruimte voor een echt applaus in plaats van een digitaal.
